In the Garden

Over memorial day weekend, we went in search of some gardens with Grandma Penny (I forgot to take a picture of Grandma, more later with her) but we didn't find many flowers. However, we did find Bob Hope and his wife's tombs and a mission chapel. As always Milo had a good time exploring a new place.

Race Day

Milo was dressed for the Indy 500 race, but he was too tired to stay up and watch. He napped during most of it- so did his Daddy! Look at his new haircut; we took him to the salon with us. Mommy went first, then Daddy held Milo and then Daddy went last. Milo was the quickest. I think she did it in less than 4 minutes since Milo was squirming and crying. She didn't even try to get it wet or use the clippers, just a few snips to tame the tangles.

Little Artist

Milo drew his first picture this week. He actually sat down and drew on some paper before trying to draw on the chair and then the toilet seat. Only later, in the car, did he try and eat the crayon- thank goodness they are washable and non-toxic!
In other news, Milo had a 14 3/4 appointment to have his 12 month shots (he didn't have them before due to our spring break travel plans). He weighed about 23 lbs (there was a lot of wiggling to get a correct number) and is 30 inches long. He hated the shots but who can blame him. I was worried he might not get the shots again since he had run a fever that week due to a virus the made it's way through day care. Unfortunately, I caught the virus too. I picked up my mom up from the airport on Friday night, and laid in bed most of the day Saturday trying to get my fever down. It wasn't much of a welcome for my mom, but I was glad she was here to help us.

p.a. this was his last picture before his first real haircut.

First Swim of the Season

Aside from dipping in the hottub with Auntie K, we had our first swim of the summer season this weekend. We invited my favorite J's and their families along too.
Here are my good girlfriends with one sweet little guy. Oh, I loved holding him, so small and light. I am even more excited to see my little nephew, who was born just a few weeks after this guy. I even managed to get him calm and quiet quickly. I've still got it!

Here is one Jennifer's:

A Happy Mother's Day

Look at my guy a year ago! Lyman was out of town, so it was just us and Murphy last Mother's Day. My friend Celeste had pity on us and invited us over for brunch to feed us along with her mother and mother-in-law. She is very generous with her mother's day. I am being very selfish- sleeping in, breakfast in bed (challah french toast, sausage, coffee and cookies for later), long hot bath, no poopy diapers, and later dinner out. I am a happy mom.

Chip Off the ol' Block

Milo lays down some funky basslines.

Music Man

Lyman's friend and bandmate, Steve, came over for a jam one afternoon. Lyman said Milo sat and read his books most of the time, but later he wanted to try the bass for himself!

Fun in a Box

A fan of Lyman's sent him a box of sausages. To me, it's reminiscent of the old days when teachers and doctors were paid with room and board, chickens or home services. Of course, Lyman got paid by Steve T., but I am looking forward to tasting this guy's pork. The real gift to Milo was, of course, the cooler box.

Spaceman

I think these seriously have to be some of the cutest pictures yet. M got these adorable jammies from our friends Lesli and Ivan for Christmas. I remember thinking, how will he ever fit into these? But just a few months later, they're perfect. Our friend Ethan had a space themed birthday party, but Milo got a nasty stomach bug and couldn't go. He still had a lot of fun with his party favor. Thanks everybody for the cute stuff to compliment this cute boy.

Tired

Just look at this boy. So tired. I think we had been having a busy Saturday morning; I put Milo in his chair with some stuff to distract him, because I had to run the vacuum. Sweet helper that he is, he just slumped over rather than screaming his head off. I'm so lucky that he's has such a nice temperament. If he didn't, I don't know how I would manage. Lucky me.
