Last weekend, Milo and I took off with Lyman to Palm Springs. This Marlyn was traveling through, and she was something to see!
There was also a chalk art festival with many artists drawing. Milo liked this one from OZ the most. The rest of night and morning were happily spent with the band and friends at sound check and then in the pool back at the fancy hotel. Even in March Palm Springs was 90+ degrees. Perfect for the pool but not much else, good thing we didn't have time for anything else before coming home.

Grandma Penny Visits
Grandma Penny escaped the wind and cold for sunny skies and big smiles from me and Milo. We loved having her here to play with us. The first weekend, we enjoyed one of Milo's buddies birthday parties.
The second weekend, we saw the new Oz movie and explored the zoo.
Milo spent a lot of time at the zoo taking pictures. Above is a self portrait he snapped and the one below he took of me.
The night Grandma Penny left, Daddy came home. They flew within hours of each other so we ate at Encounters restaurant right at LAX. Milo has been wanting to eat in the space ship shaped/themed restaurant for years, and his wish was granted. It was fun to eat there with the planes coming and going and lights of the city all around. The menu was excellent too, and we all enjoyed our meals! A little on the pricy end, but it was a splurge with Daddy coming home and Penny's last hurrah in LA for this visit. While Lyman was away, I was not forgotten, he sent me these lovely roses to my office. It was a wonderful surprise that I enjoyed all week!

Happy 6th Birthday
Milo turned 6 almost a month ago, but it has taken me this long to blog about it! We had a great birthday party with many friends at a fun indoor play place. There was music, dancing, Nonna on Skype, super food made by Lyman and delicious cake made by me.
This cake was amature hour. I haven't made a round cake like this in two years! I am out of practice and it shows. The truth is, I don't even enjoy this any more. I just like making cupcakes. Next year, there are going to be a lot of cupcakes!
What else could a kid want for their birthday? Another party past, another year gone. They grow so fast. I hate it when people say that because it's an obvious and unimaginative statement about raising children, but mostly because it's sad and true.

Lyman and pal Dave.
This sweet, one week old baby came to the party and we were friends right away. This little guy is the new son of Lyman's buddy Andy. What else could a kid want for their birthday?
