Spring 2014

Here are some random shots from the last month or so of school which prove to me that even when I'm stressed and ready for a break, we are always having a lot of fun and spending time with friends. Above is M wearing chef gear provided by Kathy many Christmases or birthdays ago. Thanks!  Below is a swim in those balls which one can image are covered in e coli!  Milo told me later that he found a pickle in the balls. Ewwww.

Some people like to hike, so their kids are hikers. Some people like to garden, so their kids grow things. Some people like crafts, so their kids make things. I love movies. So, I am grooming a movie lover. He can tell you if a movie is Disney or Pixar- Dreamworks or Universal. He knows he can watch G or PG and if it's PG 13, Daddy needs to watch it first. When we go to the theatre, he wants to walk the length of the hall to see all the displays and posters to see what's coming next. Yes, he likes kid movies, but he also likes biopics which we have watched on DVD. He watched Lincoln with me three times, because he loves Lincoln even though the intricacies of the passage of the 13th amendment are pretty complex for a 7 year old. We also watched Mandela, A Long Walk to Freedom because he learned about Mandela in school and in books L brought home from South Africa. I forwarded the violent parts, but he watched the rest. Next up, is live theatre...

My friend had to twist my arm to get another Universal pass so our kids could do the Despicable ride and new attractions there which are all super cute. More movie education.
I don't have a very good sense of smell which is a good thing because, according to L, our kid stinks. Now, he has his own deodorant which he reminds us to give him after his bath. I hope that continues!  Speaking of movies before, his school hosted an outdoor movie night which was really fun, but a bit late for Friday school night. We didn't get home until 10:00 which is hard for this mom who gets up at 5:20 on school days, but now it's summer and there is MORE fun planned, if that is even possible!

Mother's Day

Lyman had a great idea to go to the Renaissance Faire for Mother's Day. It's about 45 minutes from here and an annual event in So Cal. It was a hot, sunny, windy and then dusty day, but that's just the kind of fun Milo likes. There was a crossbow challenge...
 a parade of royalty...
 a sword fighting lesson...
archery and a test of your strength. It was such a fun day!

This spring M stated Tae Quon Do, and he loves it!

End of Nonna's trip

I missed these pictures from Donna's trip. We went to M's school for Family Fun Day.

After Fun Day, we out to a nice place for Donna's birthday. I love that we were together to celebrate together.

Whee! If you like whiplash.
