The Happiest/ Spookiest Place on Earth

My friend W asked me to come along with her to D-Land's Halloween event, and I am so glad I did. It's only in Oct. and only 3 nights a week from 4-12:00 am (at a slightly discounted price if you can even say discount and Disney in the same sentence!) We went on a Fri eve to have the weekend to recover, but she really didn't as she hosted a huge party the same weekend! (see following) The park was so pretty with wonderful fall decor dripping off everything.

Milo chose to be Batman, so I was Robin! We were quite a pair.

You all know who our little friend was!

Midway through the evening, there was a firework show which knocked my socks off. This picture doesn't even start to do it justice to how big, loud and awe inspiring it was.

Both our troopers took a nap in the traffic on the way there, and this was them at 12:15 am just before we left the park- still smiling!  W and I are perfect travel companions. We both love to have fun and see neat things, but we want to get our money's worth. At 11:45 pm, we were literally running to get on one last ride; new favorites include Peter Pan, Nemo and Tikki Room.
This is M as we made our way to the car. Happily we only had a 5 min drive to W's timeshare where we stayed all night before gearing up for the next big party of the weekend.

A Fall Birthday

My friends W and E outdid themselves again. If I ever have a house with a yard, I guess I'll just have them coordinate my party or at least be consultants since they are amazing. This time, we were celebrating I's 5th Halloween style!
I made the pumpkins on these cupcakes. It was the first time I ever worked with fondant. I'm not in a hurry to do it again, but it was fun to help out.
The first hour of the party were carnival games followed by a magician.

E's Dad and his brother made this fun sign for pictures.
Wendy made a score card for the carnival games which they exchanged for prizes.

Look at that pinata; it's as big as the birthday girl!

Pumpkins and more Pumpkins

Two weeks ago, we went to a Fall Festival in Pasadena with our buddies and had a lot of fun. There were games, crafts and the In and Out truck but the favorite were these big jumpers.
Milo rocked his costume of course. This one is from two years ago and is giving him a little camel toe in front, but he wanted to wear it. I wouldn't let him wear his new Batman costume for fear it won't make it to Halloween night.

Next, we went to a pumpkin carnival place  in Canoga Park with Daddy too!  There was a patch where he got his pumpkin, he painted a skull, bounced on a bouncer, panned for gold and climbed a rock wall! We drank real lemonaid shakeups and Daddy had a funnel cake with peanut butter cup crumbles on top!

What do you think of my pictures? I took all these on my i phone 4 which is new for me. Murphy is always a good subject to photograph because he is so sweet.

Violin

Milo started the violin this year. First graders can only choose violin, but Milo says he'll never switch instruments since he loves it so much. He is always excited for Tuesdays knowing his lesson is that afternoon.
