Kathy and Charlie Visit
Kathy and Charlie came out to visit, and we had a blast. This was just the first day at the zoo as a warm up for all the fun that was to come.
At the Beach
You know, get ready... going to the beach is not my favorite thing. I LOVE the beach. The smell, the sounds the beauty, but going there is a real pain in the ass with all the stuff you have to carry and the sand everywhere. But, I think I have found the solution. This is Paradise Cove with valet parking and a great cafe right on the beach. We had the best afternoon. The boys loved it. I loved the parking, the lunch and the time with my pal.
Science Center
We left for Anaheim a day early so we could wake up and be at Disney first thing. On the way there, we stopped at the Science Center. I have been there before, but it is a million times better now that it has the Space Shuttle Endeavor. I was not ready for how amazing this is. There were two gallery rooms where you learned about the astronauts, the 25 missions, the other shuttles, the journey to Los Angeles and then you walk in the hangar... and it's overwhelming. As Kathy said, she was happy to see me crying because she was. It's a remarkable experience.
Then we mucked around the rest of the museum for a while seeing all kinds of sciency stuff.
After lunch, we headed for Anaheim for the night, it was a nice quiet ride there. After their nap, the boys were ready for the hotel pool and a nice meal at Cheesecake Factory. Have you had the lemon cake? It's a revelation; I don't think I'll ever order the cheesecake again. Kathy has great taste!

CA Adventure
We spent our last full day at Disney CA Adventure. It was so super! The weather was perfect; Milo and I never got hot enough to want to change into the shorts I packed! The lines were long at the new Carsland area, but under 15 mins for everything else. The boys loves it all. Charlie was so proud to be 41 inches, and could ride everything Milo could. He would go up to the arrow and shout. "I can ride! I can ride!"
I just love the parades. They are probably my favorite. The costumes, music and characters are wonderful!
Here is how you spend 13 hours at Disney. 1. You hit the big, popular, new stuff first when kids have energy to stand in line. 2. You eat something healthy for lunch and save junk for later. 3. In between rides and lines, you see shows where you can sit down, all were inside except for the parade. We saw Playhouse Disney stage show (where Charlie napped) , Aladdin stage show (where Milo napped) and Crush turtle talk (Charlie was still asleep). This Animation Academy was a find. It was cool and dark inside with a continuous loop of favorite movie scenes and soothing music.
Then the rest of the day, you go crazy seeing super fun stuff and riding fun rides!
In the end, you have earned a treat! Corn Dogs and Mickey ice cream bars all around while waiting for the light and water Color show. It was such a great day! Coming up are two videos from the Grizzly play area. Next time, we'll rock it out with Leah too! She already has her ears to wear!
